RN best -BSN or RN- MSN ,FNP

Hello everyone ,

im wondering if anyone known of any accredited , affordable RN- BSN programs ? Or RN- MSN , FNP programs. I'm based in Florida but willing to relocate or study online

I have looked into university of Texas at Arlington but been given the run around not sure other have experienced the same problem.

Ive also read slit of post on western governor university there fast and affordable program did catch my attention however I do want to enter a masters program ( family nurse practitioner) and not sure if the 3.0 GPA scale will work in my favor. If anyone has graduated from WGU and entered a MSN program I would love to hear about it .

The quick answer is that yes, plenty of people have gone on to MSN/NP programs after WGU.

You will not be coming out of it with a 3.0 GPA because you have previous college coursework. The 3.0 from WGU will probably end up accounting for about 25% of your total college GPA. So if your previous GPA is relatively high, you should be in pretty good shape.

I went to WGU, didn't pass a few classes the first semester I took them, have a very roller coaster academic record in general, and still got into an MSN program at a very respectable state university. (Not an NP program. I didn't apply for any NP programs so I can't say if I would have got in).

You can get an affordable RN-BSN program in Florida through St Petersburg College. It's online with 2 practicum components that you may complete close to your home.

I did an RN-BSN here in NC. Almost all the state universities have an online program, I started at ECU, but they were transitioning and it was very disorganized. Both UNC-Wilmington and UNC-Greensboro have online programs. I did UNCW, no clinical, in one calendar year. It was inexpensive, opportunities for grant/scholarship $$. I would assume that FSU/UF or any of the state schools would have an online program.

Then, because I got my degree at a state school, there was no issue if transferring credits to my MSN program (which many are going online as well).
