RMN moving to sydney!! help!

Published

Hi! i am an RMN currently working with adolescents with mental health issues, anyway i am wanting to emmigrate to Australia and am looking for any tips on the best way to look for work as an rmn. I am not sure whether to go through an agency and they will deal with my visa etc or apply for jobs directly to hospitals and sort out the visa myself online. I can see pluses and minuses to getting an agency to do it for me.Do u know of any helpful tips or anyone who has moved to Aus and if they enjoy it aswell? i will be grateful for handy hints cheers! :balloons:

another website I go on regularly http://www.britishexpats.com has a nursing section which has a lot of nurses going to Australia and I am sure they would be able to give you some good tips etc

You might want to check out the Australian and New Zealand forum as well - there is a "sticky" thread at the top of that forum with some helpful tips.

1) don't confine yourself to Sydney - there are lots of places in Australia - including Queensland who is facing a huge shortage of RNM's - and I better stop there before I get into trouble for recruiting:p

2) Agency or hospital - they will assist you coming over - believe me we are facing a severe Australia wide shortage of RNM's.
