Riverside School of Health Careers RN program

Published

Hello everyone!

I am looking for current, past, and even prospective students for Riverside's RN program. I will be applying for the September 2013 professional nursing program. For current or past students, what was your GPA and teas score? Also how was the program, instructors, clinicals? I did attend the last open house in December and I was hoping that a student or recent grad would be there to talk about their experience. I love how the instructors seem to be really supportive and the small campus also appealed to me. To other prospective students what start date are you applying to and do you have any other nursing/healthcare experience? Any advice or other information on the program is greatly appreciated!

Yes I did! I set up moodle and my email and looked through them

Cool beans, the e-mail confuses me a little bit because I already have a gmail account so it appears as though my school email will sync with my personal e-mail. I'm off tomorrow so I'll probably e-mail someone and ask about that.

Hmmmm weird! I have sooooo many email accounts haha

My e-mail is ok, but now I need to get the Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine and my second TB!

I'm gonna try to set up all my doctor stuff for this Friday. I forgot to ask if I can just get the chest x-ray for my tb test. I was exposed to it as a child so my skin test will always show up as positive. I'm sure it should be fine for me to just get the x-ray. Do you know how much this stuff costs?

Yeah, if you've been exposed/had a positive test previously I'm sure they'll go straight to ordering a chest x-ray (that is my guess). I'm not sure how much it will cost for the physical, I'm actually going to call in just a few to find out. The TB assessment is 20.99 and a few of the shots are free at the health department. The vaccine I need is 126.00 each, I would have to have two doses.

I'm waiting for the lady that is over all the students health info to call me back now. If I get the chickenpox vaccine, I have to take them 30 days apart and our forms are due July 23rd. I'm starting to get a little stressed out about it, I hope this doesn't mess me up with starting school! I had chickenpox when I was younger and I'm assuming that is why I didn't have the vaccine. I'm wondering if I should just get a titer drawn for it.

I'm sure they will work with you on it!

Too funny! I just got my second Hep B and a PPD and picked up my titer paperwork (chicken pox and MMR) today. My physical is Friday, I am starting a LPN program in Sep.

Yay! I just made my appointment for Friday. Do titer results come back right away or do they take a few days?

Congrats on starting nursing school! Yeah, everyone that starts in September is trying to get all their immunizations and physicals completed.

I believe they take a few days. I'm not sure though, it is just a guess.

I wish there wasn't such a short time frame
