Riverside School of Health Careers LPN-RN 2014

Published

Has anyone else applied to the LPN to RN fast track at Riverside for the June 2014 class? I am waiting on my letter and want to get together with more prospective students.

Did you have to take the nursing transition course before applying?

NO, I didnt have to take the nursing transition class before applying. The only class I have to take is Medical Terminology thru Portage since this is a new requirement for this year.

Nope - Riverside in Newport News, VA ....sorry wrong Riverside.

I'm in too. WOO-HOO I called yesterday because I hadn't received a letter yet and I was so anxious. She said Congratulations you have been accepted. She said she mailed them out on Friday. I live in NC so mine may be taking a little longer for me to receive. Now for me to take this medical terminology class...have you started yours yet. I feel like I am waiting until the last minute, can you take the online class as fast as you want or is there a set amount of time?

I can't believe I am just now seeing your post, Congratulations and I can't wait to meet up with you. I hope you already started your med term class. Yes it is at your own pace, so you have plenty of time to finish med term will take you no time.

Hi ladies, I got I too! Got my letter this week. Very, very excited....long time coming.

lilprittynurse congrats to you as well, I remember reading some of your posts from a previous thread. I can't wait to meet you either. I am so excited and nervous at the same time.

@ exitedRN2B - have you started working on your online orientation and medical stuff yet? I was told that there is a PPD shortage in VA. My PCP doesn't even have it in the office anymore. I gotta go have it done elsewhere. :yuck: Still doesn't change my excitement though. I guess we'll see each other at orientation next month.

Yes I turned in my health assessment form to my provider on Monday to fill out I just recently had all that completed for a new job in Feb. I am not in VA just yet so I havent come across the PPD shortage, I hope you find some luck with that, especially since a 2 step is required. I went online the other day for the online orientation but I think it was a little confusing to many different things to maneuver through.

I started looking at the modules on MOODLE...regarding our books. Does anyone know which level we start at. I wasn't sure if we start at level 1 considering we start with the bridge this summer! I need to start pricing my books.

I just got all my information today about the health assessment form, I havent even read over it yet...I feel like I am racing with time to get so much stuff completed. My CPR card is not for health care providers or professional rescuers so I have a class on May 31st to get that straight. I do have access to PPD serum at my job, so that is one less stressor. @Lilprettynurse-- Yes, thank God for fuel efficient cars...My drive is about an hour. Only program that worked with my schedule so I figure I can tough it out for 18 months. It is so worth it. Cant wait to meet you guys on orientation
