Hello all! I am applying to Riverside in Newport News in a few weeks, and I was wondering if anyone else on here is doing the same or have done so? I am even interested in hearing from those that are in the program or have graduated. Does anyone know how competitive it actually is? I was told that 32 spots will be filled and I do not know how many normally apply. My gpa is not as strong as I would like it to be, but I am taking the TEAS V on April 24th and I am hoping to get a high score. If you are applying, what is your gpa and test score? If you are in the program already, what was your gpa and test score and do you love the program. This is my first choice program and I really really want to get in. Any information any of you could give me would be helpful and appreciated! Thank you!

It seemed fairly easy for me, but my score will dictate that. I studied so much! I really hope I did well. You are going to do great!

You have to wait to find out your score...that SUTINKS!

Yeah, it is driving me crazy!!

I got my scores! I am pretty happy! Hopefully this is good enough....

adjusted individual score: 86%

ATI academic preparedness level: Advanced

Reading AIS: 85.7%

Mathematics AIS: 90%

Science AIS: 79.2%

English AIS: 93.3%

National percentile rank: 96%

Program percentile rank: 97%

You did awesome! Congrats on a great score!!

Ahhh thank you!

Yes, you did great! What were your study methods?

I just had the ATI study manual and went through it section by section and made flash cards from the glossary in the back and made done others on stuff I felt I would need to know. I then took the first practice test in the back and timed myself. Went over some more stuff again. Took the second practice test. Then I watched some science videos on Khan Academy. The night before I skimmed through the whole manual again and then I took my test! :)

I have the ATI book and the practice tests online. I took test A the day after I received the ATI study guide but I haven't done much else in preparation. I bookmarked a website with some free practice questions and I also purchased the McGraw-Hill 5 TEAS tests book. I also figured I would use Khan academy for any topics may need help understanding.IOnce I'm done with A&P II next week, I plan on spending every free moment reviewing/studying!

Well congrats again chica! And I will definitely have to use those methods because my score for practice test A was a 68. If I can get in the 70s then I'll be satisfied. :)

I am sure you will do great! I felt really prepared and it amazed me how easy things seemed on the test. I didn't take any of the online tests but on both of the manual tests I got a 78 and then a 77, so I did much better on the real thing! The questions are very similar to the manual. Good luck, and keep me updated!

Are any of you applying anywhere else as well? If so, what's your top choice?
