Nurses Residency

Hi everyone! Thought to start a forum for Riverside Community Hospital's staRN program that starts in September 2024. Let's keep each other updated or if anyone hears back for interviews.

I wonder if they'll have us choose a top 3 or if we're only being considered for the specialty we're interviewing for?

I got an email with a list of med surg units that might interview me. Would that mean I'm in for med surg?

has anyone applied to this hospital before? I saw in an old forum that they do shadow shifts after interviews? what does that mean/look like?

Basically after the interview, you're able to schedule a "shadow shift" which is where you come in the department for 2 hours and you're paired up with a nurse. It's basically to see if you like the unit/see yourself working there
Has anyone heard back after shadowing? I had two rounds of interviews yesterday, and today I got to shadow the unit with a nurse, but I didn't really talk with the managers or charge nurses. Anyone had a different experience?
