Is anyone out there waiting to hear back from RCC? How many points do you have? It seems like 80 is the cut off......Does anyone know when we will hear from them on whether or not we get in?

BUMP! No one on here going to RCC???

I'm applying at RCC but not until September... Hopefully I'll get accepted for Spring! I've heard that 80-85 is the cut-off as well.....

From experience.....

I got 80pts last semester was on their alternate's list. This other chic got 80pts but she got in!!!

I went to the 1st orientation (required) as an alternate and required to attend a 2nd meeting and first day of school in case someone broke their arm or something. I didn't attend the 2nd meeting and first day of school. I just know that there were about 15-20 students on the alternates list. On the first orientation, they had about 2 (I think) spots for alternates..but I was not the lucky one.

Good luck students! This will be my second time reapplying with the same amount of pts. I honestly feel I will not get in this time, not even as an alternate.

I am just praying I will get in......but with only 80 points, I know my chances arent great :(

gosh, i am in so cal too and not applying to RCC but wow, everytime i see someone not get in, it makes me worry i won't either and who wants to wait 3-4 years trying to get into NS on top of the 2 in the program and teh 1-2 for the RN-BSN bridge. gosh that is a total of like 5-7 years. UCK!

i hope & pray i get in on the first try.

btw where else did you guys apply to and what is the point system work?

Applied Mtsac (walnut, ca) Nov 2009- It is lottery. Was at number 926, now 366.

Applied to RCC Fall 2009- Alternate's list, was not chosen

APplied to Citrus College Spring 2010- Did not get in (Highly Competitive)

Applied to Saddleback College Spring 2010- The letters were sent out but I know I did not get in. Most ppl got in were 4.0, and I know that one 4.0 is on an alternate's list.(Highly Competitive)

Most of the schools I applied for were based on academics. I am somewhere in the 3.5 gpa mark and this is competition! Only Rcc is points system. It's based on academics, for. language, health field experience, BA/BS degree, life experiences...etc.

This is why I applied for MTsac. It is lottery so everybody that meets the reqs. gets a number and guaranteed in their program. I have like 3 yrs wait right now. But I just enrolled in a CNA program and is gonna work my way up until a RN school wants me in. This way I don't have to feel like a complete looser and stressed out trying to get in a RN school. :)

I have only applied to RCC......If I dont get in this time I am going to begin exploring other schools.

I need to take Micro this Summer and then I can apply.... If I get an A in Micro I should be applying with 90 points and if I get a B then I should be applying with 85.... I'm just going to cross my fingers and hope for the best!

From what I hear 85-90 will be enough to get in.

Yes, but do u know if they cut their enrollment? Most schools did like Mtsac cut 109 to 60 per semester. What about RCC? Do they still take 80 students per semester? If they did, then that means it's more competitive!

They took 80 last semester but they are only taking 60 this time :(
