Riverside Community College RCC Spring Cohort 2014

U.S.A. California

Hi, I'm Ian and I've just applied to RCC's RN program for Spring of 2014. I thought I would start a thread about getting in, the TEAS at RCC, and last but not least encouragement for those trying to get in.

I'm at 50 pts. but I haven't taken the TEAS. I am waiting to be invited to take it at RCC.

dang ian a 93% that's fantastic

I just want to say RCC has an amazing program... I did the LVN to RN transition. I graduated in in June and worked as an LVN at LLUMC while in school. Its a competitive program. I know they have to accept so many CNAs as they have a grant for that as well as a percentage of males. My class had about 20 male students. I bridged 3rd semester and let me tell you that program is no joke!!! best wishes to you all....

Anyone hear anything yet?

you'll hear mid december

Congrats on getting in! I was hoping you could tell me if RCC nursing students are required to do care plans? I got accepted at SBVC and just trying to figure out all the pros and cons to both schools.

Care plans are a thing of the past. Lecture on everything is a thing of the past. "No one would fear the dread pirate Wesley, it would be nothing but work, work, work all the time." Sounds like nursing school. Expect about 8-10 chapters of reading with notes, getting an Nclex study book or two and studying it like mad, and going to a better school if you pick RCC. We might even be a pilot for a BSN program by then, who knows. I would go to RCC if I could get in.

Now I just got to pass the Teas and hope I get accepted. I was leaning more toward RCC because last time I checked you can get a BSN through Cal State Fullerton by attending RCC one or twice a week once you completed RN program.

True, there is however a bill on the state congress agenda that would initiate a pilot program of allowing community colleges to grant Bachelor degrees. The CSUF program is great and happens on Thurs. for a couple of years. Some classes will need to be completed online or on Fullerton Campus to fulfill their 12(?) credit minimum upper division req. Study the ATI book for the TEAS, they make the test and when you are done they'll refer you to whatever page in the review book that you missed. What is in the book will be on the test and vice versa. I took about a page of notes and got that stuff down. Best of luck!

Checked this morning for invite to Teas and nothing. Then checked again right now and got I got my invite. I'm so excited. Now if I can just ditch my kids till may. Then again in August and for the next to years. J/k I'm gonna feel like the worst mom for the next two years if I get accepted but it will all be worth it. Yay.
