Riverside Community College Nursing Spring 2014

Published

Hello everyone. I just wanted to start the thread for all the new applicants of RCC's Nursing Program for Spring 2014. This thread is to help each other stay current with old and new information about the program. Share your thoughts about the application process, teas V preparation, acceptance, and support group. Let the applications begin!!

everyone on standby, do you guys know how they will random select? From what I know, they have already selected people that have 75points. I just want to know what are the basis of their selections.

I went to RCC Health Services for my immunizations, physical exam, ect...All the RN, NP, and Physicians are very helpful and friendly. Bring the immunization form and all of your health records, they will review it

and tell you what to do from there.

The random selection will be done to "rank" the order of the stand by's. I was told by Steve that no one with 75 points has been selected yet?.. He told me that hopefully by the end of this week or sooner, he will let us know if we got it in or not. (:

Did you talk to him today?

Did you talk to him today?

DISREGARD MY previous post: Here is the new info:

Just talked to Purdy again, he said if you are a stand by to come to the intake day. We might have to wait until the first day of school to get invited to the program though. However, he told me that it is most likely that we will get in. (: He didn't want to tell me how many people are in the stand by list or the rank, because it's against school policy.

For the people that have not gotten a stand by or invite, the lottery will be done tomorrow (since members of the commitee are missing today).

Lastly he told me that e-mails will probably be send later in the day today to make final choices. Good luck everyone!! :)

PR120...thanks for the info. Appreciate it.

PR120, did he mention what is the basis for ranking?

Just talked to the male adviser at RCC and he advised the random selection will only admit 8 people out of the 140 that will be in the random draw, and it's all based on luck and we should hear something by today or tomorrow the latest. Best wishes to everyone in the same boat as I. Smh :'(

is there a difference between stand by list, alternate list, lottery, etc.?

First of all, thank you everyone for the info! Especially PR120, but it all just seems confusing. Since I got invited to intake that means it still isn't for sure. I get that, but then the actual random drawing is for people who aren't considered "standbys"? So therefore they are making a list of alternates, when us who are "standbys" wont know possibly until the 1st day of school. AAAHH sorry for all this I'm just going cray!

Also about the immunizations, I went today to the campus nurse, she was very helpful and walks you thru everything! I'm just getting everything done just in case.

it just sucks how everyone I've talked to have all gotten emails all saying different things. Even my friend who got in, she has 75 pts! So I mean I don't know?

I know of people that got in with 75 points as well. I'm still confused with all the lists.

Exactly, that's what I'm thinking too. Which isn't fair because perhaps had they not messed up our files, we also could have gotten in?!
