Riverside Community College Fall 2015 RN

Anyone applying for RCC's Fall 2015 Nursing program?

Thought I'd start a thread to communicate about applying, TEAS, etc.

I haven't purchased the course points yet :) but the books cost me 550 overall through Amazon and half.com! :)

Yeah it seems ive possibly over complicated things ...mine is coming out to about 1400

I paid a total of $640 for all my textbooks without coursepoints. The fundamentals of nursing through the book store was $220ish without coursepoint (that's what they told me when I called). So I bought that book through Amazon for $130. Im going to buy the course point separate for $128.

Has anyone found out for sure if only need only the 3 coursepoints?

Getting organized over here!

If you don't want to start freaking out, don't count how many pages we have to read in the first two weeks.. Real sorry I did that lol

That's a cool little set up! Looks like you're ready to go! I thought I was gonna get away with one crate for everything, I was wrong! And to late... I already counted all we had to read too... Oh my!!! I've been reading almost everyday at work during my lunch hour. I know the first few weeks are going to be hectic so I'm gonna get as much reading done as possible.

have any of you bought the e portfolio? Can we buy it online?

Did you purchase used textbooks and new coursepoints???

I purchased the books that required coursepoints brand new, and the other books some new , and some used. Amazon would have let's say the research methods book new for 15.00, and used for 14.62, so some I bought new lol. For the coursepoints I bought them as a package and they were new bundles.

Ok one quick question lol... did you buy the fundamentals of nursing from the bookstore? I saw it was 220 and comes with the 2 access codes? It looks like im paying about 1500 with coursepoints and amazon books. I dont know if that sounds right...

I purchased the fundamentals through amazon, and I believe it was 234.00 with a print copy of the text. Of course you have the option of just getting the coursepoint separately, and then buying the book used to save a litttle. I also saw that the coursepoints come with a digital copy of the text , but I haven't opened any of the packages yet lol. My total for all books came up to a little under 1000. The 3 books with coursepoints were about 600 alone, and the others I was able to get on ebay through bids, and used on amazon.

I'm not sure about purchasing it online, I went directly to the bookstore front counter. It's a small little business card with an access code on the back.

That's really cute! I need to get a new bookshelf or something like that for all my books since they're all in stacks on the floor right now.

I haven't counted the pages, but I counted the chapters. That's enough to stress me out already. I need to start on those now.

Gotcha! Thanks!

Did anyone buy the intrevenous medications book? If so, what version? It wasnt included in the book list on web advisor

I didn't buy it or either of the Mosby's yet because the book list they gave us said we could use reference books of our choice, so I wanted to wait and find the one I like best.

Usually, they're the current year's editions because they're updated each year. So it should be the 2015, unless the 2016 is already out.
