Anyone applying for RCC's Fall 2015 Nursing program?

Thought I'd start a thread to communicate about applying, TEAS, etc.

Hey guys! It's April! About 1 month until those of us who haven't taken the teas test, will take ours! And then about 2 months until we find out if we got into the program! Time is running by quick in my opinion! So this is the month I really study hard for the teas! & @sammyjoe11 I like your idea!

@lunalovegood25 I agree about the science part.. There is just SO much that can be put on there ! I found the chemistry part to be difficult too! Some of the things I don't remember going over ever so I really need to spend time on it

Ya its insane the amount that can be on it :( I'm worried

I have a question.. If we get accepted and start this Fall 2015, when will we graduate? Fall 2017??

@soloreo93 I'm *pretty* sure the graduation is in August!

@soloreo93 yea!

Hey guys, I was wondering how are you are all organizing the information you are learning? Are you taking one section at a time? Do you do some from each section? How many hours are you spending a week/day? Pretty much I would love to know your game plan..

Mine currently is:

The night before I make a list of 22-25 vocab words from the ATI Teas V manual that I don't know and one concept to learn and understand. I take the words from multiple sections so I am not just focusing on one section, and the concepts I'm learning are for example: the path of blood in the heart, mitosis and meiosis, DNA Replication, Subject-Verb agreement. Etc.

Also, I feel like I need to sit in on a 3rd grade class and relearn verbs, adverbs, possesive nouns, etc! I forgot all of that!

I feel your pain! I study every day at least a couple of hours, more on the weekends. I started reading the ATI study guide from front to back an and answering the study questions at the end of each subject. I test myself once a week. I see improvement but this test is no easy feat! I'm having the most trouble with science, math, subject verb agreement. Most of those concepts went in my brain's dump pile...lol. I took ATI's practice test again last night. I'm 10 points up from where I started but still not where I need to be. I'm just going to keep studying and taking practice tests. I'm currently going over the science section, making flash cards of key terms and words listed in bold. Maybe we can all get a study group going to help each other! Right now I'll try anything...lol

Also I've been using youtube videos. Search Keshwani Math TEAS prep. He covers the entire math section in detail. I've found his videos to be extremely helpful!

Hey guys! So I've been attacking things in a similar situation I condensed the teas study book into my own notes & have been following that & trying to stay on track as much as possible. I like your idea about learning vocabulary words daily I should definitely do that! @lunalovegood25 and @sammyjoe11 I will definitely check out that video on YouTube! Youtube is like my bestfriend in helping me study haha khan academy I read on a thread is helpful for the math section & I agree it has helped me relearn all the basic concepts again..as far as the conversions of measurements I've read in another thread to not worry about memorizing all of them but in the practice question in the back the formula isn't given so now I'm wondering if I should spend time on learning them all.. ?? :/
