Riverside City College: Spring 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Greetings all future RN students. I just wanted to start a thread for any potential applicants who will be applying to riverside city college RN program this September for Spring 2017. Let's all get together on this thread and share experiences as well as answer questions. I know the application period is 6 months away, but it will be here before you know it!

Anyone know someone currently in the program? I'm just curious if Coursepoints is an optional purchase. It didn't exist when I was in the program. Someone asked about what stethoscope to purchase, I can't answer that because it looks like they changed the supply bags since I was there too. I don't know if one comes included in that or if it is any good.

yes you have to have it.. you turn in work and such through it... I'm not in the program but went to intake day and that's what they said... and van hul said to buy one and not use the one in the bag

I know that's what they said, just wanted to know if it was actually true. Plenty of times they say something is required and it never gets touched. I can think of a couple textbooks off the top of my head that were never even mentioned in nursing school that still were listed as required for the program. It is quite frustrating and expensive.

I just asked a friend so I'm waiting for a reply...

Yes you do have to have it from what my friend said

Thanks for asking! I wish I could be more helpful to my husband, but I was the last class to have the "old" curriculum.

Its still relevant.... but the course points have an ebook so he doesn't need to buy those books

Specializes in ER.

I know this is probably thinking way ahead. But do you guys think we can take the NCLEX the same month we graduate? I know paperwork has to be sent off and processed and such. But I'm trying to take the NCLEX as soon as possible.

See I told you I am not lucky enough to get off the alternate list
