Rio Hondo Fall 2017

Hello everyone,

I just handed in my application for Fall 2017 and am wondering how many of you are out there. The person at the front desk told me that they will be picking candidates on April 10th and there will be a mandatory meeting on April 14th for those who were accepted. Good luck!

Hey guys, just a quick question before the meeting. I read a bit into past forums on Rio Hondo and found a comment warning that the nursing program at Rio Hondo was not that good and that they're nclex passing rates are low. However, I checked the nclex rates for California and Rio Hondo is about 90 percent which seems good. However, I tried looking for nursing accreditation and I haven't found any evidence that it is ACEN accredited.

Has anyone heard about the program in the past? I have never heard bad things about Rio, but the lack of accreditation by a nursing organization is making me worry.

So I was picked as an alternate and today I got a call saying my status was changed as selected! I am so excited!!

Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing with their health requirements and if anyone has gone in to pick their clinical site?

Hi,

I completed all the requirements and picked my clinical site today. I was told that only a handful of students have done so though!

I was there today too! :) I went but my stuff is still still being reviewed through castlebranch but she said she would pencil me in for the clinical site I wanted and then call me once my stuff went through to tell me my spot was set.

Which clinical site did you pick?

Did she tell you guys anything else when you picked your site besides saying she'd clear you? She didn't make you guys sign anywhere or write your name anywhere right? I picked my clinical on Tuesday! I was surprised more people weren't done.

I picked PIH whittier as well. She didn't make me sign my name anywhere just asked what section and she said she'd clear me.

My tb unfortunately was denied but I have an appointment for the second part of my TB may 5 so I'm hoping PIH Whittier will be open still but it looks like we all want PIH Whittier lol
