Hello Everyone! I applied to Rio Hondo's LVN to RN Bridge Program for Spring 2019 and now I'm anxiously waiting for a response from the school. They said we should hear back by November but the suspense is torturous. I wanted to see how many others have applied and what were your stats? Good Luck!
I checked the delivery app this morning and still nothing on my end. I'm also planning to apply elsewhere and see what happens but the week isn't over yet. No news is good news until we receive a confirmation.
I meant to ask you: exactly how did you know there's a fire class happening on nov 9? I didn't see that info anywhere on Rio Hondo's website?

When I had dropped off my application they handed me a couple pages of information that gives "provisionally selected" applicants what to expect during Orientation. The Fire class ($25) is dated for November 9th and the uniform fitting ($45) is later in the day.
So when I called to confirm the Orientation date the woman said it remains the same. And that's how I was able to ask a couple more questions about the LVN-RN applicants wait process.

hmmm, i did not get the same treatment, lol...
but, thank you.
I called Rio for one last time and asked a couple more questions about applicants backing out last minute because they decided to go elsewhere and they said, "unfortunately, we have no control of how many students may do so and there is no wait-list in the event when space opens up".
However, they will be sending out an email this coming Friday (11/02) to all the applicants that were not chosen and to those who made the "alternate list". At least it still gives some form of hope to those who made it onto the alternate list. And yes, all the letters of acceptance have been sent out recently for both ADN and LVN-RN selections.
So I guess I'll be anticipating for an email now.

Today is 11/2, I just checked my app, and still no mail from Rio Hondo...
Sigh... I supposed they'll send out the emails soon...

Oh my, you got all of that just by calling the health science department? Lol, I thought usually they get annoyed when someone call and ask those questions.
I greatly appreciate it. I think other than PCC, where they have a budget for 20 LVN-RN students twice a year, us LVNs are usually at the mercy depending on how many people fail the first two semesters...
"Comepetitive" is putting it lightly...
I wish you good luck as well! Let's keep each other posted and hopefully we'll get through the clinical together one day.
