Hi y’all, I just notice Rio Hondo posted their application deadline on their website. I was wondering if anyone is also applying?

This is going to be my second time applying.

Hi all!

Im  getting kind of a late start on my app, but I’m trying to apply to as many programs as I can! If I already have an Associates Degree, do I still need to send Rio Hondo my high school transcripts? It’s on the requirement list but usually if you have a degree - a lot of programs won’t ask for it. Does anyone know for sure?

If your AA degree is posted on your transcript then you don’t need your HS transcript.

Hey yall! I read on the PDF requirement doc that applicants are required to have taken Read 043 course or higher. Does anyone know what is this course (or the higher courses that would fulfill this requirement)?

Either having your degree cover it if you have one. Or talk to a counselor so they can clear it and all.

How does Rio Hondo select their students? They elude to a point system, but I don't see any points displayed. I've shied away from them because of this reason. Is it something they reveal only to applied candidates?

They never posted their point scale so nobody really know how much each section is worth. All I know is that they select the top 50 students with the highest amount of points.

Ahh, that's kind of terrible though. Probably a lot of politics going on behind the scenes. I wonder what the big secret is. Do you or does anyone know if they ever tell you your points? Or just never know?
