RIH/Hasbro Critical Care Internships:

I was just wondering if anyone has any information about the Critical Care Internships offered for new grads at Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children's?

First priority is given to students who work there, do any external applicants ever get accepted?

Do they really wait until May to make decisions?

Anyone take part?

Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I heard from someone who applied to the program in the last cycle. She said the hospital didn't follow the time line posted on the website. She was called for an interview 2-3 weeks after when she thought they would.

If this is true for this cycle, interviews may not happen until mid to late May.

I had the opportunity to speak directly with the nurse recruiter and he informed me that due to the large number of applicants for the Critical Care Internship they will be continuing to contact applicants over the next 2 - 2 1/2 weeks and interviews will be scheduled after that. Don't expect to be interviewed until the last week of May and first weeks of June. Don't worry everyone, try not to freak out yet (I know I was).

Nope, haven't heard anything yet.

Does anyone know how they are contacting people about interviews? In batches or all together?

From the website, it seems like all interviews will be scheduled over a period of a week or so.

I was contacted 2 days ago for an interview in the PICU June 3rd... wish me luck!!!!

I also have an offer from the PICU at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, so I am unsure of what I am going to do!:confused:

I also applied for the internship this winter. What specialty did you apply for? I am anxious to see if I get an interview or not. I was surprised there weren't more posting on here about the winter internship. I am wondering if that means there were fewer applicants (wishful thinking).

Since most ppl found something already from may graduates hopefully less ppl applied!! I chose MICU as a first preference, hopefully i can get an interview!!
