Hello Everyone,
I am new to this site and it seems very interesting so far. I have found it very helpful and resourceful. My Question is I'm a student at Richard Daley College in Chicago, and have heard not so many favorable comments about the Nursing Program.
Anyone who has or is attended Richard J. Daley Community College in loop of becoming an RN please shed some light if you'd be so kind. I've been keeping a GPA of 3.7-4.0 because I wish to be accepted without any waiting time, but I would like to know how it has gone for some of you who have already gotten accepted, or are in the program.
Thanks

Hi there. I am a student in the program currently and enjoy it. It's hard, and the teachers don't walk you through it, by any means, but if you put in the time and effort to study and ask questions, you'll be fine. A lot of people complain, but I don't think its that bad. You are getting a whole lot, for not a lot of money, and sometimes that means putting a little extra work in to find appropriate resources. That being said, I encourage you to apply. I don't believe they do a "wait list" anymore. It's a point system. You apply to the district now, I think, along with your preferences for which program you'd prefer and if accepted, they assign you to one. Truman is an excellent program, too, I hear, but I try not to compare what we're doing to what they're doing because the programs are run VERY differently. Good luck!
