St. Joseph School of Nursing in RI. Fall 2013

U.S.A. Rhode Island

Is anyone else going to St. Joes this fall or anyone have any information about the program, what worked, what didn't?

Supposedly tomorrow phone calls go out about orientation date.

I was at school the other day to order graduation photos and I asked about orientation. It is going to be a little bit later this year, probably July they said. You will get a wealth of information at orientation so don't miss it. Also, they will give you an application for the Deblinger Scholarship. Be sure to apply for it. My freshman year I blew it off and I was sorry after. Only one student applied so she automatically won it!!! There are a lot of nursing scholarships available to you, so take advantage of all that is available to you. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. My email is [email protected]. Good luck.

Thank you! I've been waiting patiently to get my hands on that orientation packet. :)

So what are the thoughts about the 3+1 BSN program?

Thank you so much nursehannah for all the info you've given us! in the acceptance letter, we were told that orientation is August 21st, and somewhere else I read classes begin August 27th. I feel that doesn't give me enough time to prepare!!

Our graduating class (2013) acted as the guinea pigs for integrating the BSN program into our plan of study. We had the transition to professional nursing and the leadership class, both in the BSN program at Salve as well as RIC. I believe this year is the first to actually begin the actual 3 + 1 program. I am not interested in it only because I literally live right around the corner from RIC and I have credits there already. Do your homework because it may require more coursework there over another program. I don't know but I have my plan for RIC in place already. Good luck! You will enjoy your time at St. Joe's. It is a wonderful program.

Thank you! This is the first year, they're still working out the kinks. Finally bought books and ordered uniforms. Now enjoying the last month of freedom. ;)

Enjoy it while you can Pink777. Also, join the school's facebook page. there are a lot of nice pics on it. good luck. If you need any help, or advice, feel free to email me at [email protected]. One word of advice, don't overdo it with your work hours and keep up with your reading. Cannot stress that enough. We had students who started with me as freshmen that had flunked their first year. All three of them admitted that it was because they were working way too many hours.

I was wondering how long it took you to get in... I'm in Ca and want to apply but am worried it's impacted as everywhere else is!

hey Pink777!!!!!

Just wondering how things are going at St Joes? Im thinking about applying....But wanted to see how you were doing and if you had any info on the 3+1 program I know it is still new...By the way I have most of my classes done i.e. anatomy, physiology, dosage general psych, the majority of the pre reqs required thru CCRi.....How long did it take you to get into the program? Hope to here from you!!!!

Sorry, been terrible busy. :)

Things are fantastic. Second semester freshman now. All pre-reqs should be completed before getting in. Makes life a little easier. 3+1 program is at Salve. Basically taking all our classes there in Warwick offsite campus.

I applied and the next day I dropped off my CPR card...and found out I was accepted right then and there. One of the best moments ever. Any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I have some questions if anyone can answer!
