RGN from UK wants to move to USA

Published

Hi Everyone,

I hope you could help me. I've passed my NCLEX 2 years ago and I have a full licence from Vermont State. I've been waiting for the agency to move things forward for more than 2 years. It seems that now things are starting to develop and I've been approach by the Passport USA (A Division of Health Carousel LLC). I was wondering if anyone has been treated by this agency or knows someone that it has. It seems very difficult to get a job in USA without an agency but I don't want to just jump to the first choice that become available.

Any suggestions are welcome!!!!

Thank you for your time!!

I forgot to mention in my previous comment that I'd like to go to Florida as I'm a Spanish nurse working in UK for over 10 years. The above agency doesn't work with hospitals in Florida. Do you know any other agency which work in Florida or New York

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

Did you seek out this "agency "? Are they asking you to pay any fees? Do you have a priority date from an offer of employment? Are you an experienced nurse presently working? Simply having a nursing license from a US state does not create eligibility for a work visa.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

With what visa are the agency offering to bring you to the US with?

Immigrant visas still have a couple of years waiting time.

Hi,

Thank you for your comment. I joined the Nurses for america agency which works together with the Passport USA(A Division of Health Carousel LLC. I paid to the nurses for america all the fees needed at the time. The recruitment may start at the beginning of next year. I've been working as a nurse for 10 years.

Regarding the work visa, do you then think that it's better to continue with the agency so they can help me with the work visa process?

Do you know any other agency?

Thanks

Work visa H1b requires minimum of BSN or 12 years experience. Visas released every April with Oct start date as long as you pass Embassy interview. Some employers are exempt from cap but generally nurses have not been in great demand for H1b.

Immigrant visa you need I140 approval and then you join the queue. Depending on place of birth will then depend on how long it will take. Visa allocation is released every Oct and then dates from then will go up or down each month. You need to check US visa bulletin regularly once you have approval. Most nurses come under EB3 category Visa Bulletin For October 2014

For either visa you need visa screen certificate which is valid for 5 years

Hi

The visa is de EB3.

Specializes in CTICU.

EB3 is not a visa. It's a category of immigrant visa. There is a several year wait for an EB-3 category applicant. They can't help you anytime soon.
