Reviewing A&P, what are the most important aspects

Published

Hi everyone

I thought I would do myself a favor for the future of my nursing career. So I am reviewing my A&P text. I know all of the content of A&P is important but wondering what do you think is the most IMPORTANT for nurses to know.

:)

Yes, it all comes into play at one time or another. If I had to go back and review one particlular aspect I would review the functions of the kidneys. I guess (due to ignorance or arrogance) I thought the kidneys were not as intertesting as some of the other structures, and I have since learned there is much more to the kidneys than just being a large filter! :chuckle :stone

Definitely review the kidneys. They're so important. If you're very unfamiliar with the liver and what it does...review. And, especially if you're a nursing student, understand the heart anatomy and beats completely.

I agree kidneys very important also fluid and electrolyte and Acid/Base (goes along with kidneys) you will definitely see this alot in nursing and they might not "reteach" this, might expect you to review (get it) on your own.

I believe they cover this the 3rd semester.

In my order of precedence

1)Brain

2)Heart

3)Lungs

4)Liver

5)Kidney

If I were to review, this would be my order of chapters.

I really want to review A and P, but can't seem to be disciplined enough to do it! Guess it's the summer or something, hopefully soon I will start reviewing!

But the summer is the best time to review because you can do it at your own rate without the pressure of an up coming test!

In my opinion the organ systems with function is the most important
