Hi,
I just started nursing school and I'm very overwhelmed by the reading material. I'm looking for books that can prep me for tests. I'm specifically looking for books that use NCLEX style questions, such as critical thinking and application. I would prefer something with more question and less review. Also, which apps are suggested? Any other study guides and tips are also welcome!

A book like Lippincott's 6000 question book could be useful to you as you can use it all throughout nursing school as your through each topic/section. The nursing Made Incredibly Easy series might also be of assistance to you.
Lippincott is all questions and no review, at least the book I am referring to. I has rationales of course, but, no review material is included. The incredibly easy series includes excellent and easy to understand reviews that you might find of assistance.
if you are feeling overwhelmed by your readings try skimming, and then read in depth the material that you do not understand.
The NCLEX Mastery app has received a lot of positive feedback, but, I am not sure if it will be helpful while in school. Hopefully someone else who passes along can give you some insight.
Best wishes, and, be sure to check out other threads on this topic as they might be helpful to you.

be sure to use your textbooks to the fullest capacity. for instance, chapter questions, graphs and grids all are there to help you study. If you are tired of reading then another book may not help. Your instructors may use the bank of questions provided by the textbook publisher, so another publisher would not help. Ilike the idea of apps for questions and you can google for those.
Thank you

I used Fundamentals Success by Patricia Nugent. I recommend it to every first semester nursing student I know.
