Review content vs doing practice questions for NCLEX PN

Published

How much should one review content? I just finished taking 30 pages of notes from my review book and that is quite a lot.... I feel like there's so much information to know and I just graduated.....I know I should study practice questions but I'm L. O. S. T. !!! Someone help me thru this crisis....:bag:

Just did my NCLEX Nov 1st. Studied Pharm and Lab values and did all the ATI final Exams. That's about it. I finished in 50mins 85 questions with a good pop up

Specializes in LTC/SNF.

I used a question book that categorized questions based on subject. I did all of the questions in order to pinpoint what my weak areas were, then I went back and reviewed content in only those areas. I became an LPN in 85 questions in 75 minutes :)

Another book I used for LPN questions:

Amazon.com: NCLEX-PN Practice Questions Exam Cram (3rd Edition) eBook: Wilda Rinehart, Diann Sloan, Clara Hurd: Kindle Store

I would definitely review lab values and infection control if you feel you need to, I got a lot of questions pertaining to those. And a ton of select-all-that-apply, so practicing answering questions in that format.

Now that I am getting ready to take the NCLEX RN, I am using Kaplan to pinpoint my weaknesses (our school bought Kaplan for us and requires us to use it) and then I will use Saunders for content review and the PDA book by LaCharity.
