Does anyone have any suggestions for a new NCLEX review book? I asked for one for Christmas, was given the money for it (I asked to pick it out). I checked out some from the library, but they're old. I really want one with new format questions on it. Help appreciated. -Andrea

When I started nursing school, someone suggested to me to get the NCLEX-RN book by Saunders. It has a light green cover on it. I have used that book as a study guide to the material that I was lectured on in class and it has helped me tremendously. It also has a great CD Rom that I plop into my computer to answer questions.
Today, Santa brought me a new NCELX book - NCLEX 250 New Format questions. I had it on my wish list, it's pretty inexpensive - I think it was $15 on amazon.com. The only thing that I don't like about the book is that the question and answer are on the same page, and while you are reading the question, I have a hard time blocking out the answer, which happens to be in my peripheral vision. So I have to cover the answer before I read it. I wish the answers were in the back of the book instead of the same page, but I like that it has a lot of questions - choose all that apply, fill in the blanks, and charts and diagrams. I have also recently purchased a CDRom on Ebay called NCLEX Review 3000, with over 3000 questions on it. It was cheap, $10 used and I really like the format so far. I also have flashcards that I purchased that I take with me and keep in my purse so that way if I have a spare moment (waiting in lines) they are there. I have also purchased a Mosby's NCLEX book, but the new format ?s aren't in there. I think for the new format, you have to get the one that I mentioned earlier. It's by Lippincott. Hope that helps!

i have a mosby's and I've been slowly workin my way through it. It seems pretty good but I don't think there are any new format questions in it. I have heard that lippincott is pretty good and so is saunders.

It seems there are new books coming out in 2005 for nclex review, especially Mosby's & Saunders. Check out the link above:

Thanks for posting those links. It looks like we will have many new options coming out soon addressing the new-form NCLEX test questions.
