What was some of the factors for not attending RETS College for RN?
Was Clark State similary close to program such as length, cost, etc.

I'm sure Clark State is at least half the cost of Rets. Clark State is a community college so tutition is already pretty cheap. Rets is about $20,000 just for the LPN degree! I'd def. say Clark state is at least half of that.

Not only is it cheaper but you get a better education. I took my LPN at RETS, and I just found out that I passed my RN today. Plus, Wright State is going to take all my Clark State credits, but they said if I would have taken my RN at RETS they wouldn't take some of them. I felt so much more prepare for me RN Nclex, then my LPN Nclex.

I am a student at Rets (Bohecker Ravenna), and all I have to say is RUN RUN as fast as you can! Rets is terrible! $20,000 into it, Im pretty much stuck now, but there are alot of surprises after they know you have stayed the length of time to get their full tuition, and them BOOM. Please if anyone is looking for an LPN school, check out all of your options first! If I can save even one person alot of trouble, its worth it.

My DIL went to Rets in cuyahoga falls. There are recruiters that will come in and offer to pay off your tuition for a 3 year contract. She went ot Fla. The contract said she wold get 36 hrs. a week. The hospital is only giving her 24 hrs. a week. I think she wants out of her contract.

2 of my friends and I went to Rets for our RN (we did our LPN somewhere else) there where many bumps in the road but it was managable. We all passed our NCLEX the first time around and got really good jobs at hospitals in Dayton, but what I hear from current students that I know it sounds like things have really went down hill. Alot of the problems every school has and as a student you dont realize it until your finished with school and talk with other recent grads they had problems also. I got hired on at MVH and when i was interviewing the lady told me I have been doing this for a long time, Rets is a new school and there are some kinks that need to be work out but so did the other older schools when they first started. Whatever school you go to good luck.
My class worked our butts off to obtain the education we received. RETS was obviously the base of it all, however, If it wasn't for the fact of being self motivated and working hard, we would'nt have been sucessful.
RETS has changed some nursing administration recently, and from what I have heard, there are really good things being portrayed about the new D.O.N.
Maybe some the deceitfullness, manipulation and incompetence might cease and the school can get back to the traditional ways and values of why I signed up there.
If they could secure good clinical sites, especially re-secure the pediatric site (Childrens Hospital), they would be almost a place I could reccomend again.
Again, speak not only to a few people, but get a broad spectrum of the sense of thoughts and feelings about the school before making a decision to go or not to go.
As always, good luck with your endeavors.
A new semester will soon begin at RETS College. Good luck to all those that is starting a new era of their education there. I Have spoken to few of the students that just finished and things seemed like they are somewhat better. The DON has only had a 15 week run at the school, so things Im sure will still be worked out over the next few semesters. The science part of the program is still by far one of the best in my opinion.
