Hello everyone! I never thought I would actually have more than one job offer :)
I'm a new grad and I've been applying to hundreds of positions. I finally have two job offers. A week ago, Hospital A offered me the job on the spot and I took it because of the economy and just my luck with finding a job.
Hospital B just offered me a job today. Hospital B is one of the top hospitals in my state. Pays higher and has great recognition, the opportunity to learn more and they are on the cutting edge of technology.
I never signed anything with Hospital A. Although I did take the drug test. One of the unit managers while I was being interviewed told me if they didn't find anybody else that they would hire me at Hospital A. But the other unit manager said he really liked me so he hired me on the spot. So it's all about business.
I found a better offer so I'm going to take it. Has anyone else gone through this? Or have any words of advice... I don't want to mess my reputation up. One of the unit managers took a chance on me.
I have not started working at Hospital A, nor has orientation begun.

Do what's best for yoy. It's all business. At the end of the day hospital A will find someone else.

I had the same thing happen to me. Once I got the official offer letter (via email) from Hospital B, I sent an email and fax to hospital A with a polite and professional note declining the position. You do not need to explain why.
I am told that this happens all the time.
