I was felling that way too. No focused, no into it, no wanting to do it at all. But slowly I started to regroup. My strategy this time is to stick a few good methods, or books. I am practicing questions with http://www.learningext.com/ which is the NCSBN workshop. Lippincott's which appear to be a very complete guide, also going over the Kaplan book. I have other books too which I am looking at. I think the key is to be able to handle questions as a puzzle. Knowledge is involved of course but the questions are tricky so I think your attention should be place in critical thinking. So train your ability to think on your feet.

I know how you feel. I can relate big time. I am using Exam cram and reviewing fundamentals. I know that Medsurg is very important. I am doing questions, but only 50Q a day. Everyone that I have spoken to states that we have an advantage because we have experienced the test and know what is on it. But that is just it, we don't know because the test is adaptive. I hear just think safety and do questions. It gets to be frustrating. All I know is that we shouldn't give up. Focus on one thing at a time. If you read one book, don't flip to something else. Read a chapter a day, just like we did for school. Treat this test like you treated all the exams you had in school. It is just a test. The worst IS definitely over. Everyone doesn't work at the same pace.

I tottaly understand how you feel because the hardest part about retaking is figuring out how to study again. A lot of people say to keep taking questions but I knew that I was weak in content and so what I did was read content from Saunders(I read all the adult Med-Surg chapters because I was below passing level on physiological adaptation the first time I took the Boards) and take Kaplan Q bank questions and question trainers again (I took Kaplan the first time too...but didn't pass). I tried to do 100 questions a day and made flash cards of important info that i read from Saunders. I did not feel like I was ready by any means (not sure if anyone feels ready before they take it) and I tested on Monday. Computer shuts off at 75, was sure I didn't pass....but to God be all the glory I found out I did! You can do it too! I will definietly pray for you guys.

Thanks Shalom RN, I really appreciate the advice. I am back on track and trying to keep my head up. I will pass this time. I will stay focused and block all negativity that comes my way.:)

thank you guys.. it's a relief.. Right now.. I'm planning to take 50 questions a day for this whole month and I also want to read 1 chapter per week.. I know its a good start.. by the way, I will be re applying soon, does this means that they will going to send me another ATT?

Yes..they will give you another ATT! Its a fresh new start! You can do it!
