Resuscitation equipment

Published

Can anyone recommend a device that stores resuscitation equipment.

It would have to be the type that would be used on a resucitaire...........similar to Kangaroo Boards that I have seen.

Looking for something to save rummaging in the drawers...similar say tothose drop down toiletry bags that hang up.

Thanks.

what do you mean equipment?

and what is a "kangaroo board"?

You should have a code cart nearby, and EVERY baby should have an ambu bag/mask set up and attached to oxygen at the bedside, you should also have suction at the bedside. If you need to code your patient you should be bagging/doing chest compressions (if someone else is bagging) while everyone around you pulls up the code cart and starts drawing your meds. This should happen w/in 60 seconds of you calling for help/calling the code.

Our delivery team uses a hanging travel toiletry bag like you suggested...but I'm guessing they're kind of old and I have no idea what brand they are. They fold up pretty small (in thirds I think) and they just loop a stethoscope around the hanger and everything else fits inside.

Respiratory is responsible for setting up the ambu, o2, ect at each c section at my hositpital. We carry in a rather large tool box full of all the resus/airway equipment that will be needed. Blade, handle, bulb suction are all set out, along with the o2, and ambu. When you open up the box, everything is its own spot, an arms length away on the counter. Currently, we are trying to have this set up in place for deliveries.
