U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hi all!

I'm in a process of applying to the Resurrection University (formerly West Suburban College of Nursing) for BSN Spring 2011 program (generic 16 months option). I started this thread to get and give some support along the process. Let's help each other out and maybe get know better before the semester starts! I'm about to start my final (fall) semester at Wilbur Wright College, I already took the TEAS exam, submitted my online application, letters of recommendation and essay. I'm just waiting for my official transcript with summer school grades. I'll be going for the guaranteed admission program. If anyone has questions or just want to share his/hers experiences- please post your comments! GOOD LUCK Y'ALL !! :)

okay thanks so much. i feel a little relief though

do you guys know if they use your accumulative gpa or graduation gpa?

hey everyone,

i was wondering if anyone has applied to resurrection university for the spring 2012 generic program. i completed my application a few days ago..... i'm just waiting now. does anyone know when they will let the us know if we got accepted or not. i emailed and a left message for juan miranda but i have not heard back from him yet.

im soooo nervous!!!!!

Bobnbob2b,

Juan Miranda was on vacation for about two weeks at the time you posted your reply. If you haven't heard from him by now I would suggest you give him a call and ask him on your status. Acceptance letters usually take about two weeks to be sent out, so if you can't wait any longer like I couldn't I would just call him. I called him and he told me I was accepted two days ago.

Good luck!

Digitimini,

I was just accepted into the BSN daytime program for Spring 2012 and was wondering if you have any recommendations on which professors I should take and which I should avoid. Which teachers make difficult topics easy to understand, which use PPTs for their tests, which use the book for their tests, and basically what should I focus my time on the most to try to get at least a B. I hear the new A is a C at Res, but I really want to be able to obtain the President's Scholarship while I'm there so every A and B I get will be less money I have to get from loans.

Please help!

I am interested in the program and wondered if you have to have all the prereqs done before you apply? I already have a Bachelor's degree but need another psych class and speech but would really like to start to the process. Does anyone know anyone in the program? Wondering how the instructors are?

Omonhpy,

I am currently taking Anatomy & Physiology 2 as well as Statistics, which are my last two classes and I just got accepted. As long as you have your Chemistry, Microbiology, and Anatomy & Physiology 1 complete and you are on your last 2-3 classes you can apply, and be a step closer to being accepted. You should do it fast though, because space fills up fast and the September 1st cutoff for Spring 2012 registrations has come and gone. They will continue to accept applications into the program until every seat is filled though, and if I'm not mistaken I believe there are about 50-70 seats available for the daytime program.

Good luck! I can't wait until next Spring!

I am just in the process of applying. I know this is past the deadline but they said it is okay to apply for spring 2012. I am taking the TEAS next week. Is it hard?

Hi marinriver,

Unfortunately you can't choose professors or the classes you are in (except for your elective). You follow a set schedule and go through the program like that so you get whatever professor they give you. It is very possible to get the President's scholarship - you just have to have a 3.5 cumulative GPA. I don't agree with the person who told you that the new A is the C. Some classes are hard, yes, but it's possible to get A's in classes if you study. If you are good at critical thinking/reasoning-type questions, that is a HUGE benefit in this program because many of the exams (and even the NCLEX) are critical-thinking based. I think that has helped me more than anything. Get an NCLEX practice book and start working through it before you start at Res just to get a feel for the questions. Good luck!

Hi marinriver,

Thank you for replying. Congrats on your acceptance. Juan replied to me about a week later. I've been checking my student status online since I turned in my application. It went from application submitted to application complete. Then I checked today it said APPLICATION ACCEPTED!!!!!!!!!!! I want to make sure this means I am accepted. I know others have posted that this has happened to them but I wanted to double check. I'm going to call the office first thing tomorrow morning just to make sure but I believe I'm in! What does your student status say?

I attend here and it is TERRIBLEEEEEEE... I have a bachelors from a University and this place is a joke. All they care about is money. Most, not all, professors are terrible and lazy. Go elsewhere.

After researching I think that I will apply to chamberlains accelerated bsn which is 3 semesters and I have heard great things about the school.
