Resurrection University Summer 2015 Applicants

Published

Hello everyone,

My name is Bryan and I thought it would be helpful to start a new thread in order to connect with others who have either applied/or are already accepted into the Resurrection University Summer 2015 program. Please feel free to comment and ask any questions. I am looking forward to hearing from all of you soon!

I got an email yesterday explaining what to look at on the student portal to see what the out of pocket cost is and when it is due. Now I am looking into student loans so if anyone has any tips they are appreciated. Thanks!

I got that email as well but I noticed the federal loans weren't up there yet so I know that isn't my out of pocket expense. I will also have to get a private loan as my first degree used up a good portion of my federal loans

Hi Bryan, I will be starting the evening program in Fall 2015. I was wondering which classes to select for my first semester? What are epic classes. Do I have to start with that class?

They choose your first semester for you because the first few classes are only offered in the beginning of each cohort start. I start next week and my first classes are health asses 1, patho, and then some transitional course. Next term I'll have health asses 2, and pharm. there are 2 terms per semester. Hope this helps!

I also recommend ordering your scrubs now. I ordered mine in March and they are just now coming in for pickup tomorrow or Saturday.

Oh and the epic class is to help us learn the "epic" system. (Charting) I am not sure when I'm supposed to take that one yet.

Thanks for your response; I'm sorta freaking out here! So... Does someone actually sit with you to prepare your schedule? I guess all that will be explained in orientation.

BTW, thanks for your help!

I think if you wanted to sit with someone they would, but for first semester they literally logged into each of our accounts and registered for us. For the remainder 4 semesters we register ourselves, but we basically will follow that bsn flyer they gave us. Which says what classes you take each term. Eric from student services says that we better get comfortable knowing our classmates first term because we would be with the same people from start to finish

And yeah orientation will help with everything. I didn't think it needed to be an all day event haha but it did help fill in the gaps.

Once again, thanks. You have really helped me feel at ease.

Not a problem!

Hi, Epic is a program used for electronic health records. Epic classes teach you how to navigate the program for when you need to chart on your patients once you start working in a hospital, nursing home, assisted living, etc. The school is in charge of your schedule the first two semesters you are there and after that you can choose your own schedule going forward.
