Hello all and Happy New Year!
I'm starting this thread so that all my fellow applicants for Resu Fall 2014 can have a place to come and ask any and every question that may come to mind. I know I am a tad bit (ok a lot of bit lol) early since the app deadline isn't until April 1st. However, it would be great to hear from all of you as we start this app process.
Where are you taking your prerequisites now? Are you applying to any other BSN programs? Is there anything you are worried/nervous about as far as applying goes?
Who knows. Hopefully it will say something about it in the syllabus. I would assume we would have to wear the uniform for the lab portion. I guess I'll bring this bag with me, too.
I got my nursing pack too! Do we have to wear our uniforms to lab the first day? I ordered mine but they still have not called back about when it'll be ready.
Uniforms are only worn for clinicals and for simulations (they'll give you more information about them when they come up). For the first couple of weeks you'll meet at the lab to learn skills and what not during your normal clinical hours. This is mostly CNA skills (making beds, bathing, transferring etc). On days your in the lab instead of clinicals they'll most likely wear your uniforms.

I happened to stumble across this and I just thought I'd answer what questions I can. I'm just finishing up my first semester at ResU (Started in January).
Clinicals are assigned fairly randomly. Before each term they'll have you fill out a sheet with preferences (but honestly I don't think they look at that that much!) BUT they do take into consideration your mode of transportation. I rely on transit so they're pretty good about making sure that I'm placed at hospitals that are fairly easy to get to via CTA.
As for the loan forgiveness there are some rumors going around about it not being offered again, however as of right now these are just rumors so we don't know for sure yet.
If y'all have any other questions I'll try and answer them. I know that before I started I had a ton of questions and I never really knew were to go for them!
