Hi all,
I am new here and have found the forum to be very informational. I decided to start a thread for Resurrection's fall 2012 applicants. I think it would be good to keep in touch throughout the process, so if you have any questions or comments feel free to express them here. I already submitted my application, transcripts and essay, all I need is to take the TEA's test. I'm taking it in February and am really nervous because I haven't even started studying. Has anyone taken it yet? How was it?
I am also applying to 2 other programs:
Loyola's ABSN program
Truman's Associates in Nursing program
I am debating on applying to UIC's GEP program, DePaul's MENP program and Rush's GEM program.
If anyone else is applying to these, please let me know! Thanks & good luck to all.
Anni23: Congrats! I am also in the E/W program starting this fall. We'll be cohort-mates! I'm assuming you'll be attending orientation soon? You'll get alot of your questions answered there but as far as the immunizations, you'll have to get all your titers done (I went to my doctor and she ordered all the tests I needed). Once the results come back you'll know what you're immune to and what vaccines you need. All I needed was the TDAP and the hep B (which is a series of 3 shots). I suggest you get started right away with all your paperwork. It's simple but tedious.
I already registed for my classes - Tues 5-8pm, Wed 5-10pm, Thurs 5-8pm.
Can't wait to meet everyone in August!
Congrats to you to Anitadoula!!! Because I coudnt sign up for the TEAS exam before the deadline ( I took the exam and passed on April 20th) I had almost given up hope that I would be accepted to the program for this year. The good thing was that I got in, but I think I was one of the last ones because I was informed that I got in May 31st. I sent my registration and enrollment form the next day.
By that time the only day available for Orientation was for July 18th I wish I didnt have to wait that long, but oh well, at glad I got in. Anitadoula, I really like your class schedule! Its good that you dont have to go to class more than 3 days a week. What's your schedule like for the next term? I currently work from 9am-3:30 an hour away from the university, which is why this program was great for me. I hope I get to pick a schedule similar to yours. After I know my schedule I can let my supervisor know if I need to work less hours or change my schedule.
I work 30 hrs a week, is there anyone else here who is also working similar hours and going to class evenings/weekend? I am trying to prepare my self mentally and physically for the hard work that awaits me.....
PrayToTheUnicorn, I went to the "document center" to look for the vaccine forms, but I only found the uniform form. When I click to download the one for the Immunizations I only ge thte same one for the background check (the one about the website that we have to register for). Is that the form your talking about? Or is there another form for the vaccines that I am not getting? I made my doctor's appointment for July 11 and I wanna make sure Im prepared. The doctor should have all my records, but I heard that you might have to go back to another appointment? The forms are due before August 1, is that enough time? Or should I look for another appointment before my current one?

If you're accepted, then your student portal should have all the forms about uniforms, vaccines, etc. in your "document center." Your student portal is located on the Resu web site... click Current Students... then find the link for student portal. It's the same place as your online application submission.
Also on the student portal you can look under Academics and see the class times for fall.
As for uniforms, I only ordered 2 pants, 2 shirts and the warmup jacket. I think you can choose a skirt if you prefer that, but you're not required to get both pants and skirt.
