Resurrection University Applicant Spring 17

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello,

I am writing this thread to find out if anyone will be trying to attend Resurrection University's accelerated BSN program in the daytime and/or evening program in Spring 2017. I have read a lot of threads about the daytime program offering more supports and I wanted to get better clarification on that. Currently as I type, I will be completing my Chemistry and A&P II in the spring and summer of 2016. I will taking my TEAS V exam on January 15. As far as acceptance scores are concerned, can anyone who currently or previously attended the institution share what their stats were? I am really nervous, stressed, scared and happy all at the same time lol, however, I hope that all of the efforts I am putting into attending this program will pay off!!

Hello,

Anyone whose been excepted into ResU, about how long after you applied did they get back to you with an answer?

I haven't been accepted yet , but I pray I get in and will let you know. I take the teas exam in 2 weeks. And have to submit last minute transcripts. I pray I find out by the end of August

Hi,

I actually just received my acceptance letter!!! I took by TEAS and submitted all paperwork on 6/23 so it took a little over a month. They did say the closer to deadline the longer it would take. Good luck!!!

What were your prereqs to get in? And were you applying for Spring 17 Evening or Daytime?

I was ushered to the office to sign commitment papers on the same day I took the TEAS exam and scoring an 81 and a 3.75 cumulative GPA and 4.0 Science GPA. Once the application deadline is up, they will call the best overall scores first (yes it's a phone call followed by letter). Once all of the high scores have replied, the rest of the spots are filled.

I will suggest the Evening program is not as crazy as Daytime. The nursing program is very challenging; better to complete in 20 months than to fail a class and have to pay for it again. Most students I know that have failed classes did so in the first semester.

O wow, that's great advice. I currently have a 3.0 cum GPA, 3.7 sci gpa and will be taking the teas. I'm scared about my chances of getting in?

Hello, I took my last TEAS exam at Resu. yesterday. I scored a 60% then 62%. They recommended that I should take it a third time. They also explained that they have a committee for cases such as mine. I have a 3.24 GPA and 3.3 science GPA. Have you heard of any students getting accepted that way?

I retook mine a second time as well the other day! I scored a 55% the first time and a 66.7 the second time. I think I will try to retake mine as well. My cum GPA is 3.5 and sci GPA 3.47. I did the personal statement and sent in two letters of recommendation. I believe that we still have a chance for acceptance. My advisor stated that the national average score for the exam is a 64 so if you try and take it a third time shoot for above a 64. My counselor also stated that she has seen others accepted into the program with lower than the 68. Are you trying to get into the evening program?

Hello Health_is_Wealth,

Yes, I will pray for the both of us and keep faith! Since I work the morning shift; the evening program will be beneficial for me. I haven't finished my statement but I sent my transcripts and 1 letter of recommendation. What did you do differently studying wise after your first exam. That is a big increase! I'm pretty confident you'll get in over me. Your GPAs are awesome and you were so close to the minimum score. Plus, your checklist is complete. I heard it takes them about a month to repsond.

When I first took the teas I didn't have my chemistry class. So I took an 8week chem class because I felt i had a lot of chemistry on my first exam. Additionally, my first exam scores were low in sci and math. So I briefly reviewed the reading portion but focused mainly on the math and sci. I used a free website called Khan Academy which really helped me with my math. Ironically, the second time I took the teas i scored the highest in sci, math then reading. However, my English was poor. I used the online teas practice assessments twice and I also took the the practice test in the book. When I took the online test, I scored between a 60-62. I felt that the online exams were harder. My best advice would be to look at your scores in each section and figure out where your weakness is at. I'm going to take it a third time in Joliet but this time focus on English and lightly review everything else. What is your name BTW? I'm Shana.

I agree the online exam appeared harder but I got a 66.7 so I thought I was good for the real exam. Math was my highest score then English, Reading and Science with a big fat 58%. I focused more on the English for the second test but I got the same score! :( My name is Zai. Did you take your test at Resu on the 10th? and if you don't mind me asking when do you take your exam at Joilet? Your kind of motivating me to take the test again!
