A new grad resume length of 2 pages was suggested by a hospital HR rep, esp for those with a previous career. My husband, who reviews resumes regularly as a director of his dept, designed the attached one for me, consolidating it to 1 page. What are your thoughts, not necessarily on the content, which I need to revise, but on the 1 page format? Too busy, or eye-grabbing?

Don't mention your infant it sets you up for rejection/discrimination.
It's neat but be careful claiming inpatient vet experience is equivalent to human care. Try focus more on unique clinicals & volunteer exposure.
It's neat but very busy in a two column format. It will be very difficult for ocr scanners to extract the needed information and may cause auto rejection in online applications. In CA unless a new grad program many will auto reject without a valid license especially with a 45%+ unemployment rate for new grad nurses in areas of CA
Thanks so much. I'll reformat to 2 pages, modify the inpatient vet descriptor and remove the child reference. I appreciate your feedback.

First and foremost, WOW! very impressive resume!
I can see that you chose the 2-column format to fit in as much as possible, which is fine, but your husband might be able to confirm this: do HR really spend approximately 30 seconds reviewing resumes? If you could come back with an answer, I'd appreciate it.
Unless otherwise specified, you could safely omit your clinical rotations--in my 6 interviews, only two asked about preceptorship (which ADN programs do not have), none asked about clinical rotations.
And when it comes to visual appeal, consistency is a contributing factor, as such I think you might get away with using two bullet points per each work/volunteer heading.
To expand on visual appeal a bit more, try this: open up your M/S book to an all text page, now how high is your excitement?
One reference that may not apply to you, but worth a peek nonetheless, is my thread on my sporifice resume and cover letter landing me (now) 6 interviews and 5 offers.
