Resources for planning ahead - US to Canada

I'm a nursing student, currently in an ADN program but starting work on either a RN to BSN or RN to MSN bridge program immediately after graduating from the ADN program.

I am interesting in moving to Canada at some point. My mother is Canadian and I have a lot of family there, so living and working there would be sort of a "back to my roots" thing.

Obviously, there will be a great many hoops to jump through between securing legal immigration status and getting licensed to practice nursing in Canada (most likely Ontario, where most of my extended family lives).

Since I like to plan ahead, I was wondering what is the best resource for up-to-date information so that I can be keeping my goal in mind while I am pursing the my degrees here in the U.S.

Specializes in Acute Care, Rehab, Palliative.

For up to date information on immigration you would go to cic.gc.ca which is the citizen and immigration website. For information on meeting the requirements as a nurse you would go to cno.org.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

If your mother is Canadian you may find you are. Check CIC website out as immigration then shouldn't be an issue
