Hello everyone...
I have been an LPN for a little over a year now and have worked in a doctor's office and currently am employed at an assisted living facility.
I have a second interview coming up for Resident Services Coordinator at an ALF. I know it would be a big leap from where I am now, but I am excited This would advance my career bunches.
Anyone who works in a position such as this who can give me any advice?
Thanks!

I'm sorry, I don't know what an ALF is, could you elaborate on the position? I'm excited for you regardless!
Sorry I meant assisted living facility. They did not elaborate on the specifics of the position at the first interview. They said they would do that at the second.
Pretty sure resident services director is less hands on and more of a management/office position. I would be second in command of the building.

Im not really sure about the facility that you work at ... but at the ALF im working at our RSD does a lot of paper work (which is usually passed off to the Asst. RSD) and the initial assessments of the residents before they can be accepted into our facility. The RSD also coordinates the scheduling of the nursing dept and is the messenger for the ED and the regional nursing director ... the RSD also works with the other department heads to be sure that the daily operation of the building runs smoothly.
GOOD LUCK!!
Thanks for the reply. Yeah...i'm sure that's what i'll be doing. I just hope if I get offered the job I'm making the right decision taking an office nurse position. Only a year into my nursing career, I find myself kind of bored. I love the residents, but I am just bored. I hope I just need to find my niche. Maybe management/office nursing will be my calling. I know my paycheck would be bigger
Oh that sounds great! Just make sure you get a detailed list of your responsibilities and make sure you're comfortable doing everything. Seems like you're moving up the ranks rather quickly and that's exciting! Good luck! Please let us know how you do! :)
