I have two APA-style research papers due for two different nursing classes.
The first class is ADULT NURSING; focus is on technical skills like IVs, foleys, NG tubes, OR procedures, sterile fields in the OR, etc. with theory focusing on Med-Surg complications, lab value interpretation, etc.
The second class is a 1 credit NURSING IN SOCIETY class; focus is on legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities of an LPN, as well a little bit of the history of nursing.
I have to pick a writing topic for each class and it can actually be anything I want; so long as it pertains to that class. My problem is that with so much freedom to choose my topic, I'm absolutely stuck!!!
Any cool ideas?

It's usually easier to write about a topic that you're personally interested in and somewhat enthusiastic about -- what are your interests within those two general areas??
I like the idea of intraoperative care, however, I don't know any pro/con arguments about nurses in the OR.
For the next class, I think I will do the pros and cons of paper charting vs. electronic health records.

You said in your first post that you are writing a research paper, not an argumentative paper. You don't need pros/cons for a research paper, research papers are statements of facts.
Since you're interested on intraoperative care, then you could write a paper on sterile technique and focus on med/surg complications when contamination occurs.

I would try to narrow down your subjects by first writing down a few topics in nursing that you are interested in. This will make writing the papers easier.
