Requirements to take the NCLEX in VA for foreign grads

Hi.. I just recently graduated from a BSN program in the Philippines. I was wondering if anyone know what the state of Virginia is requiring from foreign grad applicants? Also I read that Virginia is one of the states that have problems with concurrency issues. I just want to know if anyone can share first hand experience? Thanks!

VA is a known state with concurrency rules, but it's not been evident yet if they are actually enforcing it as heavily like in CA or NV (just started recently).

There's only one way to tell and that's to simply apply and keep your fingers crossed that they will not be enforcing the policy and just know if they do reject the application that the fees are not refundable.

I'm sorry I didn't see this post til now. I actually ended up applying through NY state. I have my license now. The whole process took about 10 months to get the authorization to test.

Hi everyone,

I'm new here. I need your help. I am currently finishing my BSN in the Philippines. I want to know if I still need to take the local board exam out here before moving back to the US permanently. My husband and I live in Virginia and planning to take NCLEX there. Now, if Virginia do not require me to take the boards here that would be great coz that would mean less time and cost. I was on the Virginia BON website but I only saw specific requirements for Canada and Puerto Rico. I also have emailed them and have not gotten a reply. Please give me guidance on where to find answer to my inquiry thank you.
