Hello. i just passed the local board this month and i'm currently applying for nclex in saipan. i've got the application forms and i have few questions regarding the requirements. one of its requirements is a Social Security Number. i just want to clarify if this means a SS number in my country? cause i do have one already. and another thing is that i don't have a license yet but in the application form, it requires me to indicate the license number and date of expiry. what should i do? i'm really confused and i just want to send complete application to avoid further delay. please help.:bowingpur

You need to write US SSN if you have one.

It means a SSN# for the US. What you have for your country does not apply for anything in the US.

Please take the time to do some reading on this site, unless you are actually going to try to get a job in Saipan, it most definitely would not be to your advantage to go for licensure there.

Be aware that for any state or territory that requires the local license, you are going to need to wait until you actually have a number assigned to you. There is nothing that you can do to speed up the process. And add into the fact that Saipan is now following everything from the US, including visas. You are looking at probably 7 years or more to be able to get a visa for the US. Saipan also requires a full US tourist visa just to visit there now, no more three day tourist visas.

One cannot obtain a SSN# until they are actually in the US and on a visa that will permit them to work here legally. I would recommend that you take the time to do some reading on this site before you do anything. Saipan will actually take you much longer to get everything done since they are not very fast in getting verification to CGFNS for the VSC or for verification to another state.
