Requesting advice re: fibrotic wound edge on stage 3 sacral decubitus

As a retired RN, I have been doing wound care on a friend's grade 3 sacral wound which is healing nicely.  I have concern that the right wound edge is becoming fibrotic, and wonder if should be mechanically debrided in order to have a stronger wound closure.  Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
