Repeating Entire A&P sequence

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I am currently taking the third class out of three of A&P. I already know that next term I will be taking the first two over. A&P 1 I got a B in but because it is considered the "tie breaker" class on my nursing school application I have to retake it and get an A if I am going to have the best possible chance at being accepted.

The A&P 2 class that I took I got a C in! I missed a B by 2 pts. out of 600 possible points. For my school's point-system application A&P 2, A&P 3, and Microbiology all need to have either A's or B's to achieve top points. So I already know I will be taking A&P 2 over.

Now I am nearing the end of the term and fearing that I may not be able to pull a B off in A&P 3. Which means I could be taking A&P1, A&P2, and A&P3 all together next term. I don't have much choice, considering that the next term is the last term that I am allowed to fulfill my prereq's for a Fall 2008 admittance.

My question is if any of you have had to repeat three A&P's in one term before? How did it go?

I did something similar with a bunch of chemistry courses at the end of my second year 30 some odd years ago. I was in a special program, had been consistently getting Ds in chem and having to repeat to get a C, and ended up on the short end with no time left before I had to have all my pre reqs done for transfer. I took 21 units my last term. I passed all of my classes except one D in one of the chem classes, but my receiving school gave me a pass on the requirement. They had been giving me breaks all along. I should have been booted for the Ds but they let me through. I even made one A that last term. I was taking a combination of organic and inorganic and biochem chemistry classes and other hard classes. Really motivated and put everything I had into it. Unfortunately, I was so burned out that I ending up quitting school after one more year. Always regretted that.

You will be knee deep in A&P. But if you push yourself you can force yourself to do it. You have been exposed to the material, so it should not be so hard this time around. Or you can delay things another year and take them one at a time. It's a big decision. Good luck.

Calioter3 thanks so much for your response. There is something empowering about hearing others that have gone before you. I also appreciate your input both positive and negative. Knowing that you eventually were so burned out and dropped out of school is exactly what I don't want to have happen. On the other hand, worst case scenario is that I have a nervous breakdown next term and have to wait another year to apply. But that is what is going to happen if I don't make an attempt to knock all three classes out in one term. The difficult part, is that unlike some programs, I don't need to just pass I have to earn a B at minimum.

Anyway thanks again for your response. I am looking forward to hearing from others who have had similar experiences.

Hearing that you have to get Bs means that much more pressure. I only had to pull Cs. Again, good luck. I hope you make the right choice and are successful.

My school doesn't allow retakes on classes unless you got a D or and F and even then they take the average of the two grades so the best you can get for a retake is a C. Your fortunate they will let you retake, that should be an easy A the 2nd time around, if you got a B the first time.
