Can I renew my license when I am charged with stalking felony

I was charged with a stalking felony, police found no weapon on me so I was just stalking. If I am not convicted for this crime when we go to court, will the Texas Board of Nursing deny renewing my license? Even if the case is dismissed or dropped to misdemeanor what will happen? If the case is dismissed will it still appear on my record when I apply for a new job?

I have not come across this one before. I wish you luck, but I'd prepare myself for the worst. Obviously this happened between renewals, so that means it's 'recent' in the world of BON/Law Enforcement. We who have made mistakes have learned that although it helps that we were not convicted, we are still viewed as criminals because the 'arrest/charge' will show up forever. Even if you have the arrest/charge expunged, health care and law enforcement can still see it. And, there's a list of charges that are not even eligible for expungement...
I would advise you to seek legal counsel before it's time for renewal.
Do I have to report this to the board now even if the case maybe dropped to a lower level?
They are going to be able to see it, just like a cop would be able to see it if he ran your info because you were pulled over. Anybody who deals with the protection of the public, vulnerable populations has a special ability to look at our records. If it were me, I would see no advantage to my situation in withholding information from the BON. If you get caught, they'll view you as a criminal and a liar. And once you lie they'll suspect everything you tell them from that point on. Seek legal advice... It may be that there's a sophisticated way to go about this. I just blurted out the truth. But, I also wasn't dealing with crimes against a person.

Take a look at what’s required to be disclosed at renewal. I think this answers your questions.
