Renal Nurse's salary range

do you have any idea of the salary range of renal/dialysis nurse?:nurse:

Specializes in NICU.

I think a lot of places are willing to accept new grads for renal/dialysis RNs, depending on their budget and if you want days/nights. I chose to go with DaVita b/c its a day job an highest paying in the area. Although, if you get a clinic you dont love, you can switch around. So, I dont think it's a bad deal. You should look into it :-)

I work at Fresnius Corp. in Queens New York, they started me at $30.30 hr. to me its low. But I was a new grad at the time and didn't take my boards and they hired me. I called every Dialysis center in NYC and they were the only one who hire me with no experience. I say even if the pay is low, stick it out and get the 1 to 2 years experience and your certification. I saw post where you can make $45 to $50 hr. Then after you get your Renal Certification, than you can do what you want and make the Big Bucks$$$$$$$$$$$. At my job, all the nurses work there only for 1 yr and quit. They just want the experience. Already, I only been there 4 months and within 6 months they want me to be charge nurse. If I were you stick it with the low pay for 1 yr. its worth it.

Specializes in jack of all trades.

In my area Davita and KRU starts RN's out at $22.00/hr. I know it stinks lol. Acutes under contract also make only $125.00 per tx. Of course central east coast of florida has some of the lowest wages in the state!

how sad these salaries!!. experienced dialysis nurses make 33-35 dollars an hour in new jersey. i work pool and make 45.00/hr. the southern salaries are ridiculously low. dialysis is not an easy job. if the pay rates were that low here i would wait tables.

i agree, this message is for the governmental powers that be. im not working for $13 and hr taking crap from families, being assaulted by patients and dealing with power hungry sociopathic territorial nurse's. then to be paid $13. for me i love my job but you have to pay. god one can become a sandwich technician and be paid $10 and hour and all you have to deal with is ketchup on the shirt or a broken bottle.

yes these salaries are sad. i worked with the charge nurse today, she ask me how much was my starting salarie, i told her $30.30 (low for nyc). she was new to dialysis but she was a nurse for over 15yrs. they started her at $31.00 hr, and she said it with a attidue, she also mention when she became charge nurse, her salarie was only raise $3. but she told me next week she looking for another job. she was only there for the experience. fmc is a ripoff corp, always promising raises but never come through. i counted all the nurses today, out of 13 nurses, only 2 have more than a 1 1/2 yr. my philoshy, get the experience and get paid the highest in your state. however do become skill, this job have a lot of responsibility.
