Hello everyone,
I have a predicament I hope someone can help me with as I am new to travel nursing. I signed up with two different travel nursing agencies. The first one I allowed to submit me to an assignment. My problem is the other company is offering me twice as much pay as the other for the same job (same city/same hospital). What should I do?
1) Ask the first company to remove my submission, telling them the truth about the other paying more....OR
2) Allow the second agency to submit me and have two pending submissions at the same hospital. If I do this then I could tell the nurse manger (or whoever calls to do the interview) which agency I'd like to use.
I really would rather get paid more but I don't want to burn any bridges with the agency that has already submitted me, nor do I want to look unorganized when the manager calls me for an interview.
Looking forward to some input!

Once a company submits you that contract with that hospital "belongs" to them. Having two companies submit you for the same contract just about guarantees that your application will be passed by. No hospital wants to get in the middle of a contract dispute.

Are you sure it is DOUBLE? Chances are one is offering a lower hourly, but higher stipend money. That's how I like my contracts because if you are called off, you still make your stipend money. Also, you are taxed less on your hourly if your rate is lower. Try to figure out what the weekly take home is for each. Then, if the other one really is much higher, tell your recruiter that this other company is offering x amount for the same job and why can't they match that? You may not be able to use the second company for that exact job location, but you could use the second company for another assignment entirely since you know they will likely pay more.

I agree, it is not going to be double. In fact the one with the higher paying hourly may in fact have lower take home pay. Use PanTravelers calculator to compare offers on a level playing field.
You do have to check out pay rates when you have more than one agency with the exact same assignment before being submitted as the first reply is correct, the first submitting agency owns you for that hospital 98% of the time. Once you are where you are, you can use the second agency's offer to negotiate with, if it is really higher per PanTravelers.
