Remote RN Jobs

Nurses Career Support

Published

Hi! I'm a TX licensed RN with an MSN in Women's Health. We moved overseas immediately after I graduated from my NP program, so I haven't taken the certification exam yet, and it'll take about a year to transfer just my RN license to where I'm currently living.

I'd love a part time nursing related job using my US license - does anyone have tips on how to find something remote? Don't need any benefits, would be willing to take a fairly low pay per hour (nurses don't make much here anyway). Some kind of telephone triage, document review, tutoring - honestly anything that would utilize my knowledge or skills!

Specializes in Critical Care; Cardiac; Professional Development.

Unfortunately if you are overseas you have a strong disadvantage. Most remote positions require you to be licensed in the state in which you reside. I researched this because my husband and I would like to live in another country for part of the year. As of right now it isn't possible.

Specializes in oncology, MS/tele/stepdown.

I just got a part-time remote job doing chart abstraction, but even that requires me to be in the US or US territories. Maybe not every position does though.

I recently heard about chart abstraction. Can you tell me more about it? Who hires abstractors? It seems to be something I would be interested in and also working from home would be a huge plus. I worked NICU for 15 years and for the last 5 years I've worked in a midwife office handling most of their labs and doing more administrative work. I'm just really curious about this and shocked I've never heard of it in my 20 years of being a nurse!
