Hey all
so ive been applying for remote hedis positions left and right. Tis' the season.
I got two calls both from staffing companies. Zolon and maxim health. Both were foreigners and asked for my date of birth and last 5 of my social security number.
Ive only worked directly with companies doing projects/contracts I've never gone through a staffing company for placement. Is this normal?
thanks!

I interviewed with Maxim some years back, and if anything it was a formality... they didn't ask any questions more than 1/2" deep. But it was in person, and they did NOT ask for my SSN. That sounds very odd.

What you can do is look up the number to these places using Google, Yellow Pages, etc., and place the call to them for yourself. That way, you know who you called. But, unless you're prepared to drive to their front door, you're going to have to provide them with some identifying information in order for them to retrieve your application/file.
I've worked with Maxim and their travel division (TravelMax). I had no desire to make a trip to Tampa, Florida, (one of many locations) to interview for the position here in Georgia. Since I solicited them, I felt comfortable providing the last 4 of the ssn# for verification purposes (they were sitting there looking at the whole nine). This was fairly recent also (02/2015).
Thank you :)
