has anyone enrolled in the inaugural accelerated bsn class that started january 2009? what are your impressions so far?

thank you,

topcat

i'd love to hear from any of you who just started in july. maybe you are too slammed with school to answer! i'm shooting for jan. 2013 and want to know as much as possible because i feel it's hard to get answers direct from rcon. what's the schedule like? what are your actual hours and days? during 1st quarter, you will most likely be in class from 8am-5pm m-f. the last 6 weeks of 1st quarter, you will have clinical 6:30am-3:30am on fri or sat. your time after class and on the weekends will/should be spent studying (ie i spent 12 hours a day sat & sun just studying). quarter 2 will give you more free time. you will have an extra day or 2 off every other week but the hours are pretty similiar. quarter 3 is busy with a more hectic schedule. you will have a few clinicals after class and night clinicals on friday. quarter 4 is 8-5pm again for the 1st 6 weeks with practicum the last 6 weeks. how are the professors? the professors at remington are like professors at any school. some are great teachers, some are not. they want you to do well, but it's too fast paced for them to hold your hand. when did you get your acceptance letter? i was accepted into the jan. 2011 class and received my acceptance letter mid-november. when in july did you actually start? july 2012 cohort should start july 23. i'm really curious when january would start exactly! jan. 2013 will probably start jan. 21 or 28. friend me, message me, whatever. i'm local to the area so i can offer any information in that area if anyone needs it!

hope that helps. my feedback is always based on my own personal experience. schedules and classes may have changed since i was there, and my perception may be different from what you experience. let me know if you have any other questions :nurse:

They say everything is included in their tuition but exactly are the extra costs that I will have to pay for.

Your tuition will include all of your books, 2 uniforms, supplies (stethoscope, pen light, etc.), , and graduation cap/gown (you have to return the cap/gown back to the school). You shouldn't have any extra costs except for maybe a parking pass at the hospital which I don't think is any more than $5. If you want extra scrubs, the school can order them for you for an additional cost, but they're pretty cheap. The copier in the library was free to use when I was there. You just had to bring your own paper. There are no printers at the school, so you'll need one to print your notes at home. There are power outlets and internet connections at each desk/table if you want to bring your laptop but you can get by without one. You can check out laptops from the library if you need one for class for some reason. I hope that answers your question :)

I'm getting ready to apply to this program and need some direction! I am unsure of what my essay should be like...can anyone share or give me an idea of to do??

Thank you all!!

to anyone in the july 2012 class, how is the program so far in the first month of the program.

Has anyone graduated this program yet? Does anyone know if the graduates get decent job placement? I am interested in the July 2013 class. Thanks :)

Has anybody heard or attended Med-life Institute? they just open a school in Kissimmee, FL, but I cannot find any reviews on this school and they do not take fasfa. Thank you.

Has anyone applied for Early Admission for the class starting in January 2013? Have you heard anything?

@Soccermang21 I believe the admissions committee met last Wednesday for the early admission applicants. I applied for that as well, and I havent heard anything yet. Let me know if you do!

@Pegasus I also applied for early admission at RCON and havent heard anything yet except an email sent to me wednesday from Remington fin aid office saying that they are encouraging me to begin financial aid process early. This email has 2 attachments. Anyone get anything similar? (January 2013)

@Vanessa89 I also got that email for the financial aid. I didn't really know what to do with it, so I just left it alone for now. Did you already do the phone interview?
