Relocating this summer...6mon exp..When to apply?

I am a L&D RN with 6 months of exp. My husband and I are planning to relocate from Louisiana to Raleigh, NC this summer with our 4 kids. I have already applied for endorsement for my NC license and the only thing I have left to do is get fingerprinted and mail them in(just got the cards yesterday). This is my question....WHEN should I apply? We want to leave end of May, beginning of June so that the kids can finish out school here in Louisiana(that way they finish up req'd state testing vs being thrown into a completely different schedule that may have already done their testing in NC, etc). With only 6 months exp, I don't have the "golden year" of experience yet, so I am worried my app will get tossed for not having enough experience...I'm also it will get tossed for not wanting to start until June(although I am willing to move earlier and the hubby stay here in LA with the kids until June)...

Any suggestions?

Hello!!

I started looking for jobs actively about 3 months before I moved. I knew I had to give 30 days notice at my job before I left, so I gave myself enough time. Be flexible about where you look for jobs, explore many options and give yourself time to do all you will need to do. PLAN AHEAD as much as possible.

Enjoy your new location, NC is pretty scenic countryside!
