Relocating to Durham and Endorsing

Published

Hi just got offered a position in Durham. Would love advice on good apartments that are safe and nice? Also, anyone who endorsed to NC? I am coming from California and endorsing over.

Endorsing does not take long but can be pricy. CA is not a compact state so you do need the NC before you start work

Alright I started the process. Any advice on locations to look for living? For single female.

Hey, I got your PM but couldn't respond. I know a lot of nurses live at Artisan at Brightleaf but to me that was more than I wanted to spend. I would just encourage you to explore. I personally couldn't find an area of Durham that I thought I would enjoy living in so I ended up finding an apartment in Carrboro (next to Chapel Hill) that I'm really happy in. There are a million apartment complexes so you shouldn't have a problem finding a place. Also, lots of places do free applications or cheaper security deposits if you work at certain places liked Duke or UNC :)

I agree with rdu55 regarding Carrboro; there are several apartment complexes to choose from, and all are reasonably priced. Carrboro is convenient to UNC, as well as Duke.

There are a few apartment complexes in Chapel Hill but most of these much more expensive than the surrounding area.

The Southpoint area of Durham offer several choices, most of which are reasonably priced. If you choose a Durham area outside of Southpoint I would suggest you stay east of Hope Valley Road and south of Martin Luther King Jr Parkway. There are some very nice apartment complexes in Durham near the Duke campus but most of these are pricy as well. Both Chapel Hill and these areas of Durham are convenient to both UNC and the Duke campus.

There are several nice apartment complexes in the Brier Creek area of Raleighas well. This aeea is most convenient to Duke but still within 30 minutes of UNC.

Good luck with your relocation!
