Relief Nurse Los Angeles County

Published

Hi I've recently been offered a position through Los Angeles County for the Relief Nurse position. I am a new grad with no experience so I accepted the offer. However, I am wondering what is the difference between RN 1 and Relief Nurse. If anyone has experience working as a relief nurse please share your insight. It is much needed for my understanding. Thank you!

Congratulations! I've also accepted a position for LA County as a new grad but for the Registered Nurse I position. I believe Relief Nurse is part-time, temporary, and the maximum hours you can work is 32 hours per week. On the other hand, Registered Nurse I is a full-time, permanent position but of course, you really get to be permanent after passing the probationary period.

Congratulations to both of you guys on your positions with La County ?⬆!!! I got a call from la county yesterday for interviews with lac-usc and ucla harbor, so nervous! I really need this job and was wondering if anyone can give me any advice on how county interviews???? Any help would be appreciated ??

Hi! The best advice I can give you is just review regular interview questions (ex. Why do you want to work here, what are your strengths/weaknesses etc.).Practice them with someone else so they can give you feedback. Go in feeling confident. You might get 1 or 2 patient scenarios or you might not get any at all. Again I say, Be CONFIDENT. You will do great. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice katy0810! Appreciate it ?
