Relaxation Room

Has anyone put together a relaxation room for their high anxiety kiddos?  The guidance counselor and I have been throwing this idea around for a while and we are looking for some direction.  Specifically looking for ideas on how to present this to admin, what items you've found to be super helpful if you have one of these spaces, and how you funded it.

Thanks! :-)

I did create a relaxation room this year.  Primarily it is used for our high school students.  I have a desk, rocking chair and small couch in the area.  I have stress balls and sensory items like lotion in the area.  I have purchased a SAD light for one of our students who's physician recommended one.

The room is used for some of our students with anxiety disorders.  It has the benefit of being located in a way that I can allow the students to remove their masks.  Since it is never used for "sick" students who may be contagious I also utilize the room for students with Migraines ( only official diagnosis) and students with concussion.

I was lucky to already have the room so there was little to no money used for the calm room. It has been very beneficial in keeping some of the high anxiety students here at school who in previous years would have gone home.

we have a room that is sort of like that.  It's a classroom that has been divided with book cases and partitions.  It has a few desks in it and a wide array of calming toys.  There's a chill out corner where there are mats all around and pillows.

Somehow, this room is being used for both children that need a break due to anxiety and a place to bring children who are having behavioral issues.  To be honest, I don't know how much we've used it this year, but it was fairly busy last year before everything stopped.

I think they call it the WIN (what I need) room

This reminds me of the plant room from Grey's Anatomy from a couple of seasons ago... Just a room with dim light and a bunch of plants and relaxing music and chairs... would be nice to get some humidifiers going, too, maybe some aromatherapy!
